Januvasthy

Januvasthy is an Ayurvedic therapy that uses warm, medicated oils to relieve knee pain caused by arthritis, injury, or general wear and tear. It helps reduce inflammation, improve flexibility, and nourish the tissues around the knee, making it a natural and non-invasive treatment option. This therapy also strengthens the muscles and ligaments, providing long-term stability to the knee and preventing further damage.

Whether you are recovering from an injury or dealing with stiffness, Januvasthi offers a holistic approach to improving knee function and joint health. Divyamrut AyurCare provides the Best Januvasthy Treatment in Mumbai.

About Januvasthy Therapy

The client is made to lie on their back, on the massage table. The injured or aching knee joint is then covered with a reservoir made of gram flour or wheat flour with a depression made in the middle to allow oil retention in the designated area. It is filled with lukewarm medicinal oil and left for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Warm medicinal oil is substituted for the cooled oil after the oil has been squeezed out with a cotton swab. The treatment takes roughly 30 minutes.

The affected area is then gently rubbed with the same oil to enhance the medicinal oil absorption after the operation. This treatment is suggested to clients that complain of joint inflammation, pain, and stiffness. However, it can also be utilized as a preventative measure to maintain knee health.

Benefits of Januvasthy Therapy

Course Duration

The duration of Januvasthy treatment varies depending on the severity of the condition and the person’s response to treatment. However, a standard course generally includes:

  • 7 to 14 Days: Mild cases of knee discomfort or minor injuries may require a week or two of treatment.
  • 21 to 28 Days: For chronic pain, arthritis or more serious problems, longer courses may be recommended for lasting relief. Each session lasts about 30 to 45 minutes and is often combined with other Ayurvedic therapies such as abhyanga or nasyam for a holistic treatment.

Januvasthy Kit and Its Uses

The Januvasthty kit is thoughtfully designed with the essentials to ensure a seamless and effective treatment experience, specifically for home use under the guidance of an Ayurvedic physician. Here is a glimpse of what you can typically find in this comprehensive kit:

  • Atta Ring (Urud Atta): This specially shaped atta ring is designed to fit tightly around the knee, forming a protective barrier. It effectively retains the medicated oil on the affected area, ensuring maximum absorption and targeted relief.
  • Medicated Oils: Herbal oils like Mahanarayana or Sahacharadi are commonly used. These oils have strong anti-inflammatory properties and help reduce swelling, ease pain, and nourish the knee joint.
  • Herbal Powders: Some kits also come with herbal powders. These are used after the oil treatment to gently massage the knee, helping with recovery and promoting muscle relaxation.
