Greeva Basti
The words “Greeva” and “Basti” refer to the cervical region and, respectively, cover and surround. Greeva Basti is a treatment in which the neck area is exposed to medicinal oil for a predetermined amount of time.
About Greeva Basti Therapy
The most special treatment for neck discomfort and conditions affecting the cervical region is Greeva Basti.
On the massage table, the subject is made to lie on prone position. The damaged cervical region is then covered with a reservoir made of gram flour or wheat flour. It is filled with lukewarm medicinal oil and left for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Warm medicinal oil is substituted for the cooled oil after the oil has been squeezed out with a cotton swab. The treatment takes roughly 30 minutes.
The affected area is then gently rubbed with the same oil to enhance the medicinal oil’s absorption after the procedure.
