Our joints are the primary point of articulation of our body, and joint pain can cause many inconveniences. Ayurveda suggests supportive and rejuvenating therapies to assist joint health, Januvasthy is one such procedure focused solely on the knee joint.

About Januvasthy Therapy

The client is made to lie on their back, on the massage table. The injured or aching knee joint is then covered with a reservoir made of gram flour or wheat flour with a depression made in the middle to allow oil retention in the designated area. It is filled with lukewarm medicinal oil and left for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Warm medicinal oil is substituted for the cooled oil after the oil has been squeezed out with a cotton swab. The treatment takes roughly 30 minutes.

The affected area is then gently rubbed with the same oil to enhance the medicinal oil absorption after the operation. This treatment is suggested to clients that complain of joint inflammation, pain, and stiffness. However, it can also be utilized as a preventative measure to maintain knee health.
