Kshetrapaalanam

Kshetrapaalanam is the composite of the words Kshetra, which means body, and Paalanam, which means to take care. This therapy can be used for complete body relaxation and is the amalgamation of Abhyanga, Kizhi, and Shirodhara followed by a face pack.

About Kshetrapaalanam Therapy

Abhyanga: This procedure is a full-body massage using herb-infused oils. It can treat various disorders and promote a transition from instability to harmony, stress to eustress and congested Ama (toxins) to freely flowing Prana (vital energy).

Kizhi: This treatment aims to allow the patient to absorb the medicinal properties of the kizhi while simultaneously sweating due to the application of intense external heat. Kizhi is a bundle made from muslin fabric filled with sand, medicinal herbs, or grains. It is used to apply pressure on various parts of the body depending on the needs of the patient as prescribed by the doctor.

Shirodhara: Shirodhara is the final therapy that is used. Shirodhara is derived from Shira (head) and Dhara (stream). It utilizes warm herbal oil that is poured on the forehead in a steady stream to stimulate and soothe the hypothalamus, regulate the functioning of the pituitary, and stimulate sleep. Shirodhara also lowers stress hormones, such as adrenaline and noradrenaline, and promotes relaxation, easing anxiety and depression.

The final step in this treatment is a face pack with a wide variety of nutrients and minerals to leave the client in a better state of mind, feeling relaxed and rejuvenated through the goodness of Ayurveda.
